A NEW DAY WITH Oliver Moorhouse

BACK TO New York

– With CellMark Medical we have a unique opportunity that doesn’t come around often, to impact the shape of an industry. In this case it means the shape of global medical device supply. Two billion people across the planet lack access to appropriate surgical technology, and care. How inspiring if we can impact that number just a little bit? There is a strong feeling in the team that the time is now.

An exciting recent development is that we have achieved our FDA import license in the USA, at least one year ahead of schedule. This allows CellMark Medical the ability to import Medical Devices, into the world’s largest and most complicated market as it relates to healthcare. We have a world class pipeline of Medical Technology that will offer all stakeholders distinct advantages, most importantly the patient. Execution continues to be the key.

I was born and raised in Cambridgeshire, UK, and went to school for Business Studies in Nottingham. Upon graduation I entered into a fast-track management program with a rapidly growing healthcare sterilization provider in London. After one year, this company sent me first to New York, and more recently Tampa Bay, FL, with a remit to support integration efforts and secure sterilization contracts with hospitals here in the US. The true definition of a complex sell!

Having developed a deep affinity for the higher calling of healthcare, the opportunity to support building the brand new Medical Division within CellMark was too good to miss, in no small part because I have worked with several of our colleagues (including the President of the division) and partners within this new division, in times gone by. So I joined CellMark Medical upon its inception and moved back to the North East US.

My relocation back here allows more time for skiing, for instance, and I’m in the mood to find a new summer hobby like mountain biking, or kite boarding in readiness for 2018. A friend recently noted that I have two switches, consisting of on, and off. On the more relaxed side of life, I will be getting married in November, 2017, and spending time with my fiancé and our small dog keeps one pretty grounded. Family is everything. Enjoying time with loved ones, and tracking their journeys is really quite inspiring.
